| Hotel Fort House is a charming medium priced,
family-run hotel. It is located by the waterfront in Fort Cochin, a town
of cultural and historical importance, about 20 kilometers from the city
of Ernakulam in Kerala. Well-situated within walking distance from
heritage monuments such as the Old Jewish Synagogue, the Dutch Palace ,

We began as a small, five-room family-run hotel and
restaurant in 1997. Since then, the hotel has been expanded and upgraded
while maintaining an atmosphere of homeliness, comfort and informality.
The family continues to manage and administer the hotel, ensuring
personal care and concern for all guests. |
| Our hotel has 16 spacious, airy rooms in the new
block and three rooms in the old block. The rooms are built around a
lush tropical garden which open out into a long 'thinna' or verandah
that provides a view of greenery and the back waters. Constructed in the
characteristic Kerala architecture, the rooms have modern conveniences
and are air- conditioned. |

Fort House's waterfront restaurant offers a pleasant
ambience generated by the fresh sea breeze and the gentle sounds of
water lapping against the pier.

We serve seafood specialty dishes that are the hallmark of the Kerala
Latin Christian cuisine. Our dishes bear the flavour and diversity of
home cooked food and avoid over use of spices. Vegans are offered a
selection of deliciously flavoured traditional vegetarian fare. For the
homesick traveller we have a variety of pastas and other European
dishes. |

The Ayurveda treatment centre at the hotel, run in
collaboration with Nagarjuna Ayurvedic Centre, Kalady, Kerala's most
reputed Ayurvedic group is an added attraction.
Treatments are applied by well trained therapists under the
supervision of an experienced Ayurvedic doctor deputed from Nagarjuna
Ayurvedic Centre. In our effort to provide our guests the finest in skin
and body care, we offer a variety of specialised and enjoyable Ayurvedic
spa treatments, with focus on restoring optimum skin health and body
